Care for the Orphans

Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world - James 1:27

I want to use the above for a short Snippet but I find myself thinking that I could write an entire article on just this one sentence. Mostly from the perspective of how the evolution of language and understanding change how we interpret our relationship with God.

For now, I’m simply going to underline what the writer of James is saying in different words – that it’s what we do, and not what we say, that determines whether we’re acting in accordance with that “still, small voice” that encourages us to recognize the inseverable, agapé relationship that binds us all with Theos.
