… welcome with meekness the implanted word … But be doers of the word, and not merely hearers  … those who look into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and persevere, being not hearers who forget but doers who act -they will be blessed in their doing. - James 1:21-22&25

Accepting the Message of the Christ with “meekness” isn’t the same as acting “meekly” when it comes to being “doers.”

We do indeed need to keep in mind that our understanding of the “implanted word” will change and evolve as our relationship with God deepens. But we need to be willing to act boldly every day no matter how imperfectly that might be.

Will we get it wrong sometimes? Of course we will.  But, as the author of James says, it’s better to try and fail than to never try at all.
