Wisdom cries out in the street; in the squares she raises her voice. At the busiest corner she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: ‘How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? Proverbs 1:20-22
What is “Wisdom”? This Proverb would seem to suggest it starts when we stop clinging to either/or us vs. them thinking. We “love being simple” because it’s easier isn’t it?
But in a world that depends on our recognition of our interdependence on each other and all of Creation, simple is a recipe, as the passage goes on to say, for catastrophe.
