The LORD watches over the strangers - Psalm 146:9
I usually find myself prefacing references to the Psalms with the clarification that they’re, in essence, Old Testament hymns. Not the “word of God”, not even the wisdom of the prophets. Hymns. Like Rock of Ages. Or Lord of the Dance.
This little excerpt continues the theme for the week on the universality of God’s connection to us. While the ancient Israelites considered themselves to be the one and only “chosen ones”, here’s a song that reminded them that God didn’t leave anyone out.
And neither should we.
