…The LORD sets the prisoners free; the LORD opens the eyes of the blind. – Psalm 146:7-8
Taken from the same psalm as yesterday’s Snippet, I like this line, and those surrounding it, because they highlight the strength we gain by grounding our understanding of the world in our relationship with Theos.
It’s not that God is going to wave “his” magic wand and perform miracles. It’s that, through our agapé connection to Theos, we will be empowered to do those things.
To borrow from the colourful language of our more evangelical cousins, it is we who are blind, and prisoners, and limited in so many ways.
Faith in Theos – in the interconnectedness of all – doesn’t solve every problem instantly. But it does give us the ability to tackle every problem, one by one, little by little.
