I sometimes wonder if we get caught up in the commercialism of Christmas to the extent that we do simply because we’ve come to believe that there’s very little we can do to bring about either “peace on earth” or something as modest as peace in our own small corner of it.

Continue readinghere’s a Native American saying that I like a lot - Treat the earth well. It was not given to you by your parents, it was loaned to you by your children. We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.
When we give the world back to our kids, maybe we could clean it up a little bit first.
